Many politicians in our nation are playing with fire. They are in deep trouble with the Lord. It is bad enough when men personally commit sin. Evil is multiplied when they cause others to sin. It is hard to imagine what God will do to those that cause entire nations to sin. Two Kings of Israel, Jeroboam and his son Nadab caused the nation of Israel to sin. God destroyed them and all of their family. Several kings that followed them committed the same sin and met the same fate. The judgment of many political leaders in America may not be quick but unless they repent and get right with God, it will be certain. While the nation of Israel are God*s eternally chosen people and America has been a favored nation of His for only a little over two centuries, I believe the judgment of God on those that cause any nation to sin will pay a steep price. 1 Kings 15:25-30: And Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel . . . 26 And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin. . . . 28 . . . Asa king of Judah did Baasha slay him, . . . 29 And it came to pass, . . . that he smote all the house of Jeroboam; he left not to Jeroboam any that breathed, until he had destroyed him, according unto the saying of the LORD, which he spake by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite: 30 Because of the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and which he made Israel sin, by his provocation wherewith he provoked the LORD God of Israel to anger.
Before I received Jesus I voted for some politicians that have caused America to sin. I am so thankful that I have been forgiven and will not have to occupy the shoes of those politicians when they stand before God. They obviously do not study the Bible or they ignore it. Many of them are actually trying to lead America and Americans away from God and His Word, the Bible. Their judgment may not seem swift, but they will not be able avoid the judgment of God. Just to pick a number out of a hat, I wonder if they lead 100 million individuals away from God and the Bible, their judgment will be 100 million times worse than that of other individuals. James 3:1 My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.James 3:17: But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. |
